Hello Insiders, Microsoft Windows Insider Preview Build 22635.3420 is released to Beta channel insiders with a lot of fixes and few known issues. Let’s understand them all in details.
This build contains many new fixes to the know problems and some minor new features as well. We will go through some of the new features here.
New Features in Build 22635.3420
New Position for the Widgets for Left aligned Taskbars. Only new feature added in this build which is being rolled out gradually is the position of Widget’s entry point on left aligned taskbars. They are now near the left of system tray area.
Enhancement in Beta Channel for Insider Build 22635.3420
File Explorer – Improvement in the drag and drop files with mouse between breadcrumbs is now available in the File Explorer Address Bar. This is being rolled out in phases.
Windows Share – Using Windows Share now you can generate QR codes for URLs and cloud files links through the Windows share window.
Windows Backup – If turned on, now Windows Backup can backup the Sound settings as well.
Fixes in this build of Windows 11 Insider Preview for Beta Channel
- File Explorer – Crashing on launch for few insiders.
- Multiple Desktops – Different Background for different monitors.
- Search – No App results showing in search.
- Task Manager – Fixed issue with task manager.
Changes in build 22635.3420
Copilot in Windows will help ten times if you are not signed in. Then it will ask to login to Microsoft Account or Microsoft Entra ID.
Lock screen has weather and more widgets added.

- This update addresses a deadlock issue in CloudAP. It occurs when different users sign in and sign out at the same time on virtual machines.
- This update addresses an issue that affects the Group Policy service. It fails after you use exe to apply an audit policy to the system.
- This update addresses an issue that affects the Settings app. It stops responding when you use it to remove Bluetooth devices.
Known issues in Build 22635.3420 for Insiders
- General – IIS and WCF may not work and Microsoft is aware of issue and investigating.
- File Explorer – Using Shift + F10 will unexpectedly open Show More Options in the File Explorer context menu in this build.
- Widgets – Swipe invocation for Widgets may not work if taskbar is center-aligned. And few more Widget related issues.
